Greek Turkey Burgers

Greek Turkey Burgers

This is anything but a boring burger on the grill. The turkey makes it healthier than a burger made with ground beef, but it is not lacking in flavor. The Greek seasoning and creamy feta cheese mixed in to the ground turkey take this burger to the next level.

1 ½ pounds ground turkey

⅓ cup crumbled feta cheese

¼ cup finely chopped red onion

½ teaspoon dried oregano

½ teaspoon dried parsley

½ teaspoon dried basil

¼ teaspoon marjoram

¼ teaspoon dried dill

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 cup raw spinach leaves

1 medium red tomato, sliced

4 hamburger buns

½ cup Tzatziki

In a large bowl combine the ground turkey, feta cheese, red onion, oregano, parsley, basil, marjoram, dill and garlic powder. Use your hands to gently mix all the ingredients together.

Form the mixture into 4 evenly sized balls then flatten out into patties. Heat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat and cook until the turkey burger is fully cooked through (cook to an internal temperature of 165°). Place the hamburger buns on grill to toast for about a minute, until golden.

To serve: Place spinach on the bottom half of each hamburger bun, place a patty on top, then place tomato on top of that. Spread a spoonful of Tzatziki on the top half of the hamburger bun and place Tzatziki side down onto the burger.

*Note: turkey patties can be made in advance, just refrigerate or freeze until ready to use.

Serves 4.
