This is a heavy rotation in my house because it can easily be assembled from things in the fridge. I actually developed the recipe when I went foraging in my refrigerator for ingredients so that I didn’t have to make a trip to the grocery store.

This particular pizza is everyone’s favorite dip reincarnated in pizza form. The white pizza is topped with garlic, olive oil, a heap of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, marinated artichoke hearts and spinach.
With this pizza you get sweet and savory flavors with just the right amount of spice. The sausage and Calabrian chilies contrast perfectly with the honey drizzled on top of the pizza just before serving.
One of my favorite Italian restaurants is Valbella, located in the meatpacking district of Manhattan. One of my favorite dishes at the restaurant is a thinly pounded out veal chop served still on the bone. It’s breaded and lightly pan-fried so that it’s crispy on the outside and still juicy and topped with a light arugula salad.
This is a simplified recipe for homemade porchetta; instead of breaking down and deboning a whole pig then stuffing it with a blend of Italian spices, I opted to use a portion of pork loin and belly with the skin on.
Romaine lettuce is tossed in a light lemon olive oil dressing and scattered on a white pizza loaded with mozzarella cheese. Ripe, creamy avocados are scattered generously on top for a pizza that is fresh and somewhat healthy (but still loaded with cheese).
One time I was making shrimp scampi risotto for dinner with my friend Kirsten when we were living in Malibu and while searching for the risotto rice at the local grocery store when we ran into Eva Longoria. Of course she was wearing six-inch heels and a designer dress while doing her grocery shopping. She dropped her can of soup on the ground so I picked it up for her. You could say that we are friends now.
Pizza is a no fork zone. Anyone who uses a fork to eat a cheap slice of pizza is shameful. But feel free to add any toppings that you like. Think summertime – nice weather, maybe a pool party and friends. This is the perfect setting for pizza on the grill. Just make sure you keep drinking water while you grill. It might get a little hot over there.
